I do NOT have good news, I have had to cancel our trip to New Zealand. I had rented a house in Turango, on the Tongararo river for the whole month of Feb. 2022.
The earliest NZ is planning to open up to tourists is April 2022 (fully vaccinated OR NOT) — damn it!!
So I had no choice to cancel. I had made these reservations over 9 months ago figuring by February 2022 all this virus stuff (restricting travel) would be OVER! Well guess not, and now with the NEW variant – Omicron, here we go AGAIN!!
I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m really getting a little tired of this. I won’t say any more but you get my point.
So, what to do now, we will have to wait and see as to when NZ is going to open up again without anyone having to quarantine. So it is a waiting game.
I have friends in NZ who email several times a week to keep me informed of the travel situation, so I will update you via the blog.
I keep wondering if that 16lb. 28” Brown Trout I hooked and lost last time is still in that hole!!
Guess I’ll have to wait a little longer to find out.
